EPSG Web Service

The company provides a web service giving direct access to the EPSG database through a graphical user interface.   Using the map select the country or region of interest and the web service will report back all CRS definitions contained within the database for that query.  The results of the query can be further filtered by specifying one of the pre-defined categories offered, e.g. Map Projections, Datums, Coordinate Reference Systems etc.  Reports of CRS parameters can be created as desired.

Further to this the company is also offering a new service whereby it will maintain and assist E&P companies with user-defined CRS’ implemented within their organisations.  One of the issues surrounding the global implementation of the database within an E&P company is that user-defined CRS’ are assigned new EPSG codes when they are created.  In order to prevent duplication or overlap of codes in different offices in the organisation the policing and distribution of the codes needs to be centrally controlled.

The company is providing a web service that will enable this to be performed by maintaining a customised version of the EPSG database specifically for your organisation.  In this way all CRS’ defined throughout the company (regardless of office) will be assigned a unique EPSG code removing any potential duplication.  It will also allow the database to be upgraded in a simple manner when new releases of the general EPSG database are made.
